Did you graduate in 2009, 2010, 2011 from an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sociology or Drama/Theatre and Performance? We’d love to hear about what you’ve done since, and you’ll also be entered in a prize draw for an iPad Air when you participate.
After Goldsmiths is a pilot project led by the Careers Service in collaboration with the Development and Alumni Office. We want to capture and map the varied paths our graduates have taken. Whatever your experiences your participation will be invaluable and help current students in their future planning.
What is the After Goldsmiths: Career Stories Research Project?
It’s a pilot study to explore what our graduates from 4-6 years ago have been doing in terms of work, study or in the widest sense other ‘career-related’ activity. We have a short online survey which takes 5-10 minutes to complete.
Why are you doing it?
We know from the graduates we meet that many have varied and interesting journeys. We thought it would be great to capture more of these to help current students when planning their future. We also thought it would be interesting to have some numerical information around how many jobs people have had, if their degree was essential, what sectors people are working in and so on.
We’ll use the information to produce a Goldsmiths Careers Booklet, information for departmental webpages and in our conversations with students. Everything will be anonymised unless you choose to take part in a case study.
We also think that communicating the findings from the research will be a good way to promote Goldsmiths alumni to potential employers and the wider world. We hope this will be an added advantage for you!
How can people get involved?
If you graduated in in 2009, 2010, 2011 from an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sociology or Drama/Theatre and Performance we’d like you to complete the online survey by 5 October. We want to get as many people to respond as possible so we will also try to contact you by phone after that date if we don’t hear from you.
If you want to provide a more detailed case study we’d love that too, just tick the box at the end and we will be in touch!
Pass the word around if you are in touch with friends from your time at Goldsmiths and please get in touch if you have any questions.
